Welcome to the Marquette Poets Circle.  

Monday July 13th 6 PM Open Mic – Bring a chair or blanket and poems to share. Dinner and Drinks are BYO. Meet at the Marquette Harbor Lighthouse park.

Monday July 20th Virtual Poetry Workshop 5:30 PM. Send me your poems for feedback by the group I will send you the zoom invitation and I will share your poems on Zoom with the group.

Before the stay at home period our monthly meeting and poetry workshop were the 1st Monday of the month (5:30PM-7PM) in the lower level of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 201 E Ridge St. Marquette. Open Mic followed at 7PM. Once a quarter, our Open Mic is sponsored by Peter White Library and is held at 7:00PM. The public is always welcome.

Poetry Workshop Redux: On August 28, 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. In commemoration of the 57th anniversary of this event, join Marty Achatz as he re-offers a poetry workshop about hopes and dreams. Let’s all keep Dr. King’s dream alive. “We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.” –Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
